January 25, 2014
Bascom Palmer Eye Institute invites you to Miami this winter to join us for our Battle on the Beach Revisited: What’s New and What’s Really True? CME program. This unique and exciting symposium will be held January 25, 2014 at the beautiful Mandarin Oriental Miami. The meeting will present the newest strategies in the clinical practice of glaucoma and is to include the comparison of current surgical techniques, techniques that are in the development phase, and controversial topics in glaucoma for 2014. We suggest you make your plans soon and bring your friends and family to join us this winter in South Florida.
This course will present new diagnostic techniques and evidence-based evaluation of current and new medical and surgical treatments for glaucoma and related optic neuropathies. The distinguished faculty will present clinical trials and late stage pre-clinical efficacy data. Approaches to measurement of intraocular pressure; assessment of structural analysis of the optic nerve, ganglion cell complex, and retinal nerve fiber layer; and evaluation of the risks and benefits of medical therapy and newer glaucoma surgical procedures, such as Minimally Invasive Glaucoma Surgery (MIGS) will be critically discussed. Target audience will include practicing ophthalmologists and scientists interested in learning the state of the art advances in these key areas.
