I am originally from Trinidad and Tobago and migrated to the U.S. in 1995 where I completed high school in Ronkonkoma NY.  I then attended SUNY at Stony Brook, NY, where I graduated in 2001 with a B.S. (honors/summa cum laude) in Biochemistry and Anthropology. From 2001-2009 I completed an M.D. and Ph.D. at Harvard Medical School, Boston, MA. My Ph.D. dissertation involved investigating the effects of VEGF blockade on quiescent adult homeostasis. I then pursued my Internship in Internal medicine and Residency in Ophthalmology at Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, TX, followed by a Fellowship in Glaucoma at Bascom Palmer Eye Institute.  My clinical interests include glaucoma and cataract surgery.  My research focuses on clinical investigations on the pathology of glaucoma as well as treatment modalities in glaucoma.
