Staff and faculty at the Miller School received three of the South Florida Business Journal’s 2010 Excellence in Health Care Awards, earning the top honor in every category for which they were finalists. A team at The John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics (HIHG) received the Community Outreach Award, while Laurence Gardner, M.D., executive dean for education and policy, was honored.

For the third consecutive year, the Miller School’s Bascom Palmer Eye Institute has been ranked as having the nation’s best overall programs in a survey published by Ophthalmology Times. Bascom Palmer ranked best in both clinical care and residency training, and second in research.

Bascom Palmer Eye Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine has been ranked, for the third consecutive year, as having the Best Overall Programs in the nation, as published in the October 1 edition of Ophthalmology Times. The Institute also ranked “Best” in both Clinical (Patient) Care and Residency Training.
