Bascom Palmer Eye Institute expanding, sees Naples as medical destination

NAPLES — Bascom Palmer Eye Institute plans to make an expanded Naples center its flagship location on the Gulf Coast of Florida, a recognition of the community’s potential for medical tourism.

“We’re very excited about Naples as a medical destination,” said Dr. Stephen Schwartz, medical director of Bascom Palmer’s Eye Institute at Naples. “That’s what we do and we would like to be a part of that.”

Local leaders are lauding the expansion plans and have been working with Bascom Palmer for months.
